Weekend updates!

Can't believe the weekend is over alr 😭😭😭 My weekend was amazing!!! I've soooo much things to update hehe 😊

Friday

I went to get a haircut! 💇‍ The last time I went to the hair salon was during my Korea trip in Dec 2017! Didn't wanna visit the hairdresser before CNY cos I thought my hair still looked pretty presentable + I didn't wanna pay for CNY surcharge LOL #cheapo

BUT Idk why my hair became sooooo disastrous after 初一? The ends became super dry.... they look fried wtf. And I started dropping A LOT of hair. It was insane. I've the habit of running my hands through my hair throughout the day and everytime I do that, there'll be like a BALL OF HAIR (easily more than 5 strands omg) The weird thing is... I didn't change my shampoo or conditioner or swim recently so Idk why my hair started becoming crazy??? #mysteryinlife

ANYWAY I decided I've had enough of this and wanted to cut my hair shorter. Actually I've been super tempted to cut my hair short after watching Witch's Court cos the female lead aka Jung Ryeo Won looks super chio with short hair!!! 😍

That's her for reference!!!! (Btw the drama is damn good haha WATCH IT!!!!)

But my mom freaked out when I mentioned that I wanna cut my hair short - she thinks I look like 💩 with short hair LOL. So in the end, I just to just get ~shoulder length hair with loads of layers! Of cos I went to the salon with a reference image but I'm not gonna post it here cos it's an image of a girl I came across on Instagram (and I don't wanna appear likka creep haha)

Here's the final result guys!!!!

Chopped off ~6 inches of hair and I kept asking my hairdresser to layer it MORE!!! Initially he was super against layering it furthur cos he said it'll 翘起来 (curl at the ends) and it'll be super messy looking BUT come on la.... if you've seen me, you'd know that my hair is DEAD straight. I kept telling the hairdresser "不会翘起来的啦！Layer 多一点!" (It won't curl at the ends, just layer more) and forced him to do so HAHA.

And I have to say....

I LUV THE END RESULT!!!! 😍

I feel like I look younger? And more "fresh"? 🤗 Although lengthwise, lengthwise I think can go a little shorter but nvm la try this length first hehe. What do you guys think!!!

And I'm happy to report that ever since I cut my hair shorter, I've stopped dropping so much hair!!! WOOHOO ✌️

Anyway I met Cheryl for dinner after that! Decided to try SBCD Tofu House at Millenia Walk cos they're having 15% off for all HSBC card members and the food looks super good from the menu lol.

Wah luckily I made a reservation cos there was a snaking long queue at 7pm!!! 😱

The restaurant is actually quite big! And all the tables are quite spaced out so that's good!

They've quite a wide variety of food! Loads of different types of soondubu jjigae too!

Cheryl and I decided to go for their combo meal cos it seems more worth it! Btw I asked them if the soondubu jjigae in the combo is the same size as the ala carte order and the server said it is the same size EXCEPT there isn't as much ingredients!

Anyway we had their LA galbi combo (BBQ short rib + seafood soonbudu jjigae - I opted for medium spicy WHICH IS TOTALLY NOT SPICY AT ALL LOL 🤣)

Wheee first up, banchan! Wow they gave us each a small fish as part of their banchan! Not bad right! The other banchans are kimchi, marinated squid, seaweed and green chilli with garlic. Anyway the fish was pretty good! Meat was tender and well seasoned! 😋

Our mains were served pretty fast!

Oh yeah bubbling hot soondubu jjigae! It came with some clams, prawns, squid and loads of tofu!!! The tofu was SUPER silky soft! 👍 As for the soup, it was a little bland? Could be slightly spicier and saltier! But overall, not too bad 7/10!

Mmhm our galbi!!!! There were 6 slices in total. The meat was pretty tender and very well marinated! Except it's a little oily but still good!!! Btw I had some difficulties trying to eat it with chopsticks until Cheryl told me to just use my hands hahaha.

We also ordered an additional bowl of rice ($2)!

And the best part abt dining in SBCD Tofu House is they provide free Korean yoghurt drink after your meal!!! 😍

WAH THIS WAS DAMN SHIOK!!! We took like 3 bottles each LOL.

Our total bill after the 15% discount was $40 which was very affordable and reasonable! Definitely coming back to this restaurant with WL someday!!! 😃

After dinner, we went to Patisserie G (also in Millenia Walk) for desserts cos I wanted to use my #EntertainerApp hehe!

This place serves really good cakes!!!

They all look super good! I've tried a couple of their cakes before and so far I haven't been disappointed! My fav is their lychee cheesecake and one of their chocolate cakes (I can't rmb the name but I think it's called The G Spot or sth haha 🤷‍

The apple cake looks soooo pretty! 🍎

Anyway Cheryl chose the matcha opera while I picked the lychee cheesecake!

The matcha opera was not bad! It was moist and not too sweet! The matcha taste wasn't that strong but it was good enough for me! There's a thin layer of mango marmalade which was kinda refreshing!

And the lychee cheesecake was YUM! 😋😋😋 The cheesecake wasn't too gelat, just light with a nice biscuit base! And it's topped with a layer of konnyaku jelly with lychee bits! Soooo good I'm telling you!!! 😍

And best part, we only paid ~$8.80 for 2 cakes with my Entertainer App! #score 🤗

I didn't use any foundation as usual! Can see some of my acne scars on my forehead but I think it's not that bad la... I think I look okay without any foundation 😊

Met WL at Holland V after my family lunch on Saturday!

Wahhh the Starbucks was super packed with students studying LOL. Anyway we tried to figure out our new iPhone X tgt hehe! Yessss I've finally changed my phone! WL decided to get himself an iphone X too so we can have couple phones 👫😍

Trying out the portrait mode on my phone! Wah like not bad hor! 😍

Anyway we ordered the new green tea blossom cake and a cup of macadamia cocoa cappucino to share! The drink was topped with macadamia drizzle which made it quite sweet? I probably wouldn't order it again lol 🙊

As for the green tea blossom cake, it's basically green tea sponge cake topped with cherry blossom flavored cream. Pretty to look at but taste wise, it's quite underwhelming lol. Couldn't taste any matcha but I quite like the cherry blossom cream haha. I think try one can alr la.

WL helped me with my #OOTD after that! We were walking around Holland V area trying to find a suitable place with nice background when we chanced upon this signage outside one of the dental clinics! Perfect backdrop no??? 😌

Wearing my new lace top from Klarra! I actually bought it in August last year but nvr had the chance to wear it out! Haha yikes I really have too many clothes 😞 Anyway I love this top so much!!! I'm so happy I bought the last piece in small online! The colour is a lovely shade of blue too! Reminds of me the blue hydrangeas WL bought me for Valentine's day 😍 #loveit

I decided to pair it with my trusty white high waist shorts from taobao! I quite like this outfit! Casual but still classy looking at the same time hehe.

WL left shortly after and I made my way to Ashley's house for our gathering!!! WL was supposed to join me but he had a family dinner to attend so he came over after his dinner!

I bought the smoked salmon yusheng from Dian Xiao Er. Wanted to get it from DTF but the queue was INSANE!!!! This is their small size and it was enough for 5pax! I paid $32.80 for this if I'm not wrong!

We didn't dare to add the smoked salmon cos it looked off... Anyway the yusheng was okay only la. Not that good. I'll probably buy from DTF the next time haha.

Ashley's mom made us meesiam!!!! Omg damn effort 💯

Looks damn good right!!!! It was very yummy too!!! Everything was homemade including the sambal chili which was really quite legit (but also very spicy hahaha) 👍💯

AAshley and Peyyann bought us some crispy fried chicken from Oven & Fried Chicken! Very tender and yummy too but you know me, I don't take fried chicken skin haha.A

Ashley's mom also made for us some cheng th'ng for desserts! Yum 😍

And it was time for banluck after all that food! 🎴🃏 Omg I was losing so badly the whole time??? Had to SOS WL to hurry rush down and gimme some luck LOL.

My luck really damn jialat lol. Whenever I get banluck (aka 21 points), the banker will somehow get 15 points and zao... IT HAPPENED 5 FREAKING TIMES OKAY!!!!! 😡😤😡😤😡😤 So angry!!!!!! I ended up losing all my money aka $55 😪

WL, on the other hand, had damn good luck??? He ended up being the overall winner and won ~$400??? 🤑🤑🤑

Sunday

Selfie before I head out! Thought that my makeup complemented my outfit perfectly that day too!

Used the brown tones from my Zoeva caramel melange palette for my eyes and applied one of the red shimmery shades from my CP Golden State of Mind on my inner lids! Love how it turned out! Although you can't see the colour on my inner lids that clearly 😅

For my lips, I'm wearing KLK in Kristen! Haven't worn this out in almost a year! Actually I haven't worn liquid lipsticks out in a long long time! I almost forgot I had this lipstick LOL. Still a nice red shade on me but I don't fancy how the lipstick bleeds after my meal EVEN AFTER I'VE LINED MY LIPS argh 😖

Soooo I won the Ladyironchef giveaway for The Pelican's Sunday Champagne Brunch and decided to go there on Sunday to redeem my free meal! 😄 Of cos I brought Ashley along cos I tagged her in my comment hehe.

It's my first time in The Pelican! It's one of the restaurants in One Fullerton and it was pretty crowded when I arrived ~1pm! I think reservation is definitely a must if you intend to go there for their Sunday brunch!

The menu!!!! Woooo everything sounds amazing on the menu hehehe 🤩

Can you tell that we're wearing the same dress? Hehe I actually purposely asked Ashley to wear the same dress as me cos I wanted to be twins hehe 👭

Started off with this oyster and prawns plate! Omg the oyster was super good! Ashley doesn't take raw oysters so I had all 4 for myself YAY! 😏 And the prawns were so sweet and fresh!!!! 🍤

And this baked seafood platter was damn yummy as well! The lobster was super good! The meat was very plump and juicy! I finished it in 4 bites lol. Regretted not taking my time to slowly savor it 😂 The oysters were superb as well (but I prefer them raw haha)! And the squid was nice and chewy hehe. But the star of the platter had to be the barramundi fish!!! It was seasoned perfectly and it was sooooo tender!!! Srsly out of the whole platter, I was least excited abt the fish but it really blew me away! Even Ashley, who hates fish, commented that the barramundi was very good 👍

This is their classic lobster bisque which was probably the only dish that was disappointing! I felt that the soup was quite diluted and the lobster taste can be stronger? I wouldn't recommend this! Save your stomach space for other food!

Salt and pepper calamari! This was meh average too. The batter was too thick! I felt that the calamari was too crispy lol. I could hardly taste the squid! I say SKIP!

OH YEAH their lobster slider was SUPER GOOD 😋😋😋 So good that I ordered 3 for myself LOL. The buns were perfectly buttered and toasted, crispy around the edges but soft and fluffy on the inside. And the lobster was thick and juicy, topped with cheese and a slice of bacon... GAWD I LUV IT 😍 Would 10/10 come back just for the lobster sliders!!!

Also tried their beef slider which was equally good! But if I had to pick, I'd definitely go for the lobster haha. I think I'm more of a seafood person than a meat person. But I also love meat la hahaha.

This is their old fashioned crab cakes! 🦀

Look! They're super generous with the crabmeat! It's not bad la but I was getting quite full at this point hahaha...

I also ordered their woodfire grilled chili cheese corn even though I was quite full (and Ashley was like huh you order corn for what.... BUT I LIKE CORN! 🌽) Anyway really not regrets ordering this!!! It was SOOO GOOOD!!!! 💯 It's not spicy though so Idk why they said there's chili. But anyway it's like those pasar malam cup corn (but the less oily version) topped with CHEESE!!!! 🧀 Damn good! I'd recommend you to try this!!!

Got myself a gin and tonic too cos it's also included in their champagne brunch hehe!!!!

Wooo we saved some space for desserts! This is their burnt butter banana which is basically just banana bread with ice cream haha. It was served hot! Super nice to eat with the ice cream! We ordered 2 of this cos one serving is damn little LOL.

This is their affogato ice cream which was okay... Like normal ice cream lor haha 🍨

We stayed there until almost 4pm!!! Left with a happy belly hehe 🤗

Anyway I think their brunch is really super worth it! Wide variety of food and everything is super fresh as well! Although it's on the expensive side but it's okay to pamper yourself once in a while la hehe 🤗

Also, the service was great and the whole place had a super nice ambience too! Perfect for brunch dates with your girlfriend or significant other! I'd definitely return 😃
