CNY has always been my favourite holiday since young! I've always looked forward wearing my new clothes on 初一 and feasting on all the CNY goodies - pineapple tarts are my fav! Not forgetting the angpows hehe! 💰
For 初一 this year, I decided to wear this beautiful piece from Aijek! WL bought it for me for my birthday last year and I kept it specially for CNY! I love this dress so much! 💕😍 It's super flattering and hides my food baby at the same time! Perfect!
My dad, on the other hand, wore a very confusing shirt.... Doesn't he look like a loanshark lol 😂? All that's missing is a gold chain haha. If you zoom in, you'll notice that those are actually surfer prints on his shirt!
As per tradition, on 初一 we usually gather at my grandma's house in the morning before visiting Thian Hock Keng temple (in Telok Ayer)! After which, we'll go for lunch before visting our relatives' house!
On 初二 and 初三, I'd usually follow my parents to visit some of our family friends! This year was no exception, but I left slightly earlier on 初二 to visit WL's relatives! I've only started visiting WL's family since last CNY and that was when they introduced me to the world of gambling aka ban luck lol. Prior to that, I've never ever gambled during CNY! WL was shocked when he found out lol, "Then what do you do during CNY if you don't gamble? 😲"
"Um... I eat and talk and use my phone?" 😅
Anyway I guess my luck must be pretty good this year as I won a few rounds and made a net profit of $15 lol! Not a lot la but better than nothing? 😂
On 初三, WL and I went over to Nat and Limzhen's new house for a round of mahjong and I'm proud to report that I won a few dollars too! $3 to be exact haha! 😂 It's really an achievement considering how lousy I am at mahjong haha! 🀄 But the whole game lasted ~2hrs. Omg $3 for 2hrs??? I think it's faster to win money through ban luck haha.
Heh finally a photo tgt with WL! Wanted to wear pants for 初三 but the weather has been a killer these days so I decided against it! This dress is from Thestagewalk! 😊 I'm loving my ultra sparkly flats from ASOS too!
And that sums up the first few days of CNY! Can't wait to visit Ashley's house this weekend for some homecooked food and another round of ban luck haha 😅 I was the biggest loser last year 😭 Need to win back my money this year haha!!!
